PA40-44-30-DP/ PA40-44-30-DP-PP
The PA40-44-30-DP and PA40-44-30-DP-PP are part of our AT90S4434 / AT90S8535 Emulator Adapter series. These adapters convert Atmel AT90S4434, AT90LS4434, AT90S8535, and AT90LS8535 microcontrollers from a 40-pin DIP layout to a 44-pin PLCC footprint.
This adapter simplifies the process of integrating AVR devices into PLCC-based systems. Whether you’re building a prototype, debugging firmware, or deploying into production, this adapter ensures consistent electrical performance and reliable socket compatibility.
You can choose either a ZIF socket for convenience in development or a LIF socket for cost-effective stability in production.
🧰 Choose the Right Socket for Your Workflow
The ZIF Socket (PA40-44-30-DP) is ideal for engineering teams and developers who frequently insert and remove ICs during testing.
Alternatively, the LIF Socket (PA40-44-30-DP-PP) is a great fit for production lines or embedded systems where the device will remain in place long term.
Both versions feature 0.018” round DIP pins, which ensure strong mechanical retention and excellent electrical contact.

💡 ZIF vs. LIF – Which Socket Should You Choose?
Socket Type | Best For | IC Handling | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
ZIF (PA40-44-30-DP) | Development / Debugging | Lever-actuated, tool-free | Higher |
LIF (PA40-44-30-DP-PP) | Production / Long-term installs | Push-fit, semi-permanent | Lower |
Choosing the right socket type depends on your usage. For frequent chip swaps, go with ZIF. If your chip stays in place, LIF will save cost and space.
